T-shirt to help raise money for Red Cross

The Daily News Wed Dec 29 2004

A city businessman has created a custom T-shirt to raise money for the Red Cross Asian relief fund.

"I was watching TV last night and couldn’t get over how people have nothing, not even safe drinking water," said Steve Quiney, owner of FunStuff Recreational Equipment in Valleyview.

With that thought in mind, Quiney decided to put to work his screen printing press, a new aspect of his business. He designed artwork to depict the concentric circles of an earthquake combined with a wave graphic and the date of the international tragedy.

Red Cross is seeking cash donations - not goods - through its website at www.redcross.ca or by calling 1-800-418-1111.

Quiney will donate to the Red Cross fund $10 of every $15 T-shirt he sells. FunStuff is located at 2160 Flamingo Rd.
